Commission Terms & Conditions

1. Commission Reservation Deposit
A $499 CAD non-refundable deposit is required to secure a commission slot. No work will begin without receipt of this payment.
2. Nature of Deposit
This deposit is a reservation of the artist’s time, labour, scheduling priority, and creative resources and is not a purchase of finished artwork.
If cancelled before work begins, the deposit is non-refundable but may be converted into studio credit at the sole discretion of the artist.
Once work has begun, the deposit is strictly non-refundable and non-transferable.
3. Creative Interpretation
All commissioned work is created in the artist’s unique style and interpretation.
The client acknowledges that:
Composition, colour, design, and artistic direction are fully at the artist’s discretion
General ideas (themes, subjects, moods, references) are conceptual only and do not guarantee specific outcomes
The final artwork is a creative interpretation, not a literal execution of instructions
4. Revisions & Approval
Previews may be provided at the artist’s discretion
One minor revision may be accepted at the artist’s discretion
Minor revisions may include adjustments such as colour tone, lighting, or detail refinement
Major revisions, including concept changes or complete redesign requests, may be refused or subject to additional fees
Once the artwork is finalized or approved, no further revisions will be made.
5. No Refunds for Subjective Dissatisfaction
No refunds will be issued based on personal taste, expectation mismatch, or dissatisfaction with style, interpretation, or final outcome.
The client acknowledges they are commissioning artistic skill and interpretation, not a guaranteed visual result based on personal preference.
6. Copyright & Ownership
The artist retains full copyright and ownership of all artwork created.
The client receives ownership of the physical original artwork only and a personal-use licence unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Unless exclusivity is explicitly agreed in writing, the artist retains the right to:
Display the artwork publicly
Reproduce the artwork in any medium
Sell prints or derivative works
No reproduction, copying, printing, or commercial use rights are transferred.
7. Client-Provided Materials
If the client provides reference material, the client confirms that:
They own or have legal permission to use the material
They grant permission for its use in the creation of the commissioned artwork
The artist is not responsible for any copyright infringement arising from client-supplied materials.
8. Right to Refuse or Cancel
The artist reserves the right to refuse or cancel a commission at any time.
If cancellation occurs before work begins, any payment beyond the deposit may be refunded at the sole discretion of the artist.
If cancellation occurs after work has begun, no refund will be issued.
9. Unclaimed or Cancelled Work
If a commission is cancelled after work has begun, or left unclaimed, the artist retains full rights to complete, display, reproduce, and sell the artwork unless otherwise agreed in writing.
10. Payment Terms
Final delivery of artwork is contingent upon full payment (if applicable).
No physical or digital artwork will be released until all payment obligations have been satisfied.
11. Agreement
By purchasing a Commission Reservation Ticket, the client confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions in full prior to purchase.
